After 25 years in the city, the full refurbishment of Gaucho Manchester is now complete. Having been selected to lead a new chapter for the Gaucho brand, the Manchester venue underwent a full interior redesign inspired by the landscapes and textures of Latin America.
The new look blends warm, contemporary finishes with the character of the former Methodist church building just off Deansgate in the city centre.
Extensive bespoke joinery forms the centrepiece of the renovated restaurant, with all pieces designed and manufactured in Medlock's in-house workshop. Our works delivered a new 47 seat martini bar, wraparound staircase, backbar, wall panelling, reception desk and DJ booth.
Works also include the refurbishment of the mezzanine dining level and two private dining spaces, which can seat a combined 31 guests. A central open kitchen brings the theatre of the grill into full view and creates a focal point for the main dining floor.
Throughout the refurbishment, careful attention was paid to preserving the building's heritage. Original architectural features, including the historic church organ, were restored and remain central to the finished space.
The full refurbishment was completed in just five weeks - a fast turnaround given the scale and detail of the joinery and finishes involved. The client was delighted with both the pace and quality of delivery, allowing Gaucho Manchester to reopen to guests in mid-August as planned.
This project is our second collaboration with Gaucho following a previous fit out at a Grade II listed building for their Liverpool restaurant, and further demonstrates the quality and versatility of Medlock's in-house joinery workshop in delivering premium hospitality interiors.
