Reception and front-of-house refurbishment complete at East London hotel

A full refurbishment of the reception and ground floor facilities at the Crowne Plaza London Docklands is now complete. Complete in just six weeks, the results deliver a refreshed arrival experience at one of East London's best-known hotels.

First opened in 2003, the hotel sits in a prime waterside location close to Canary Wharf, ExCeL London and London City Airport. It’s a high-footfall site where the quality of first impressions counts.

Adding bespoke joinery and refreshed finishes

The six week programme delivered a full transformation of the hotel's front-of-house spaces. The standout elements are the bespoke curved timber reception counters and matching slatted timber feature wall panels - both manufactured in Medlock's own in-house joinery workshop.

New herringbone flooring runs throughout with the additional of zonal tiled areas for the reception counters. The upgrades also included full redecoration and minor M&E upgrades. The new lobby offers a warmer, more considered arrival experience that sets the tone for guests from the moment they walk in.

Delivered in a live hotel environment

All hotel refurbishment works were carried out while the hotel remained fully operational. Careful programming and close coordination with the hotel team made sure that guest disruption was kept to an absolute minimum throughout.

The £270k project was delivered in collaboration with RBH Hospitality Management, one of the UK's leading hotel management companies. It marks another successful chapter in a growing working relationship between Medlock and RBH across the hospitality sector.
