Full Steam Ahead As Refurbishment Underway at Hilton London Paddington
Work has started work on the refurbishment of 90 bedrooms at Hilton London Paddington - one of the capital’s most iconic hotels.
Originally opened in 1854 and designed under the supervision of renowned engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the building forms part of the historic Paddington Station complex.
Its Victorian architecture, grand façade and Grade II listed status have earned it a lasting place in the city’s hotel and travel history.
Brunel's railway hotel legacy
The Hilton Paddington hotel - originally known as - Great Western Royal Hotel - was constructed in just 14 months as part of Brunel's vision for Paddington Station.
The now listed building showcases the grand Victorian railway hotel style that defined an era of travel, with its impressive façade welcoming visitors arriving at one of London's busiest transport hubs.
Today, the hotel's position directly connected to Paddington Station continues to offer guests convenient access to Heathrow Airport and five Underground lines.
Since becoming part of the Hilton portfolio in 2001, the hotel has continued to evolve whilst retaining its heritage. Now, a smart new bedroom upgrade will help make sure it continues to deliver high-quality stays for years to come.
Work to be delivered with the hotel remaining open
The project will be delivered in two phases over five months with all works taking place in a live hotel environment.
Scope of work includes:
Full strip-out of bedrooms and bathrooms
New wallpapering and wooden flooring
Electrical alterations
Upgraded bathrooms with new baths, shower screens, vanities and feature tiles
Building on a growing partnership with Hilton
This is our second project with the client following the successful refurbishment of 150 bedrooms at DoubleTree by Hilton Tower of London in 2025.
It also adds to our growing portfolio of work across the capital, including recent completions at Clays Soho, Flat Iron Southbank and Flat Iron Victoria.
