DoubleTree By Hilton, Tower of London
Client: Carolia Tower Ltd
Architects: Morrison Design
Duration: 34 weeks
Value: £1.4m
Medlock has delivered an extensive 184 room refurbishment across three floors at DoubleTree by Hilton's prestigious Tower of London hotel. This project supports the property's strategic repositioning to broaden its market appeal beyond traditional business guests to welcome families and leisure visitors.
The multi-million pound refurbishment represents a significant shift in the hotel's market positioning, maintaining its strong corporate offering throughout the week whilst expanding capacity to serve families and leisure guests over weekends.
Our works transformed the sixth, seventh and eighth floors, introducing two new premium room categories - Tower Deluxe and Tower Executive - named to reflect the hotel's iconic location adjacent to the historic Tower of London.
The comprehensive upgrade delivered impressive family-focused improvements, creating 75 family-friendly rooms including brand-new Connected Family Rooms and options with rollaway beds. We configured 33 rooms to sleep three guests, providing flexible accommodation for families of different sizes.
Our works implemented a warming autumnal colour scheme combined with custom furnishings and modern lighting throughout the refurbished floors.
Practical additions included open wardrobes, vanities with shelving and in-room fridges to improve functionality and guest comfort.
The project was completed in live trading conditions, requiring detailed planning to minimise disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.
This successful delivery adds another significant London landmark to our specialist hospitality refurb portfolio, following recent completions at Clays Soho, Flat Iron Southbank and Flat Iron Victoria.
