Fit-Out Begins On Tasty New Northwich Market Hall

A new market hall is set to bring fresh energy in the heart of Northwich town centre. Thanks to the investment of Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council, plans have started to relocate Northwich Market to the new development at Barons Quay.

The specialist fit out project will see the existing shell unit transformed into a vibrant, multi-stall indoor market that will host a mix of food, drink and leisure traders.

New plans for central town centre space

Inside the unit, the programme includes the construction of 23 individual vendor stalls and market areas, which form the core of the new market offer.

In addition, works will deliver new external façades and bifold entrances to better connect the space with the wider Barons Quay development.

Supporting infrastructure will include new toilet facilities, back-of-house areas, internal and external drainage systems, plus cladding installations.

Once complete, the market hall will provide a flexible, high-quality setting for independent traders, as well as supporting the ongoing regeneration of Northwich town centre.

Building on market hall experience

Works are now underway on the five month programme, which is scheduled to complete in late summer.

The project builds on our primary contractor experience delivering other exceptional market hall projects across the UK, including Chester Market for Cheshire West and Chester Council, as well as Produce Hall in Stockport and Southport Market Hall. All are proving to be thriving, food-led destinations that have become key social hubs within their towns.

The new Northwich Market Hall will continue that story, creating a lively space where people can eat, drink and socialise at the heart of the community.
