A New Cut Above As Gaucho Manchester Reopens Following Full Refurbishment
New interior fit out of Gaucho Manchester after five-week transformation of the historic former church building
Gaucho Manchester has reopened its doors following a complete refurbishment of the restaurant. The fresh look marks a new chapter for the venue after 25 years in the city.
The refurbishment introduces a warm, modern interior design inspired by the landscapes, textures and spirit of Latin America. The result is a classy, atmospheric space with all the hallmarks of a proper steakhouse.
Bespoke joinery at the heart of restaurant fit out
The new-look 205 cover restaurant is defined by extensive bespoke joinery and dark timber finishes throughout. This includes a new 47 seater martini bar, wraparound staircase, backbar, wall panelling, reception desk and DJ booth. All bespoke joinery was designed and manufactured in Medlock's in-house workshop.
The redesign also includes the refurbishment of the restaurant's mezzanine dining level and private dining spaces of The Mendoza (up to 11 guests) and The Hive (up to 20 guests). At the centre of proceedings on the main floor is the open kitchen bringing the theatre of the grill into full view for guests.
Throughout the refurbishment, care was taken to preserve and restore the character of the building's former life as a Methodist church. Original architectural features, including the historic church organ, remain central to the space.
A quick turnaround for Gaucho Manchester reopening
The full refurbishment and redesign was completed in just five weeks, a fast turnaround given the scale and detail of the joinery and finishes involved.
The client was delighted with the pace and quality of delivery, allowing Gaucho Manchester to reopen to guests in mid-August as planned.
Continuing a strong partnership with Gaucho
This marks Medlock's second project with Gaucho, following a previous refurbishment at the brand's Liverpool restaurant. With Gaucho choosing Manchester to lead this new chapter for the brand after 25 years in the city, Medlock are proud to have played a part in bringing the vision to life.
