Supporting the continued UK expansion of Mowgli Street Food, Medlock has completed the transformation of their stunning new Newcastle venue.
This project marks our third successful collaboration with the outstanding Indian street food brand founded by Nisha Katona in 2014.
Located in a Grade II listed building on Nelson Street, the works turned an empty, yet historic, structure into a vibrant 96 cover restaurant spanning two floors.
The project brought the distinctive Mowgli atmosphere to life. Evoking images of a fine period building in Calcutta, the renovation incorporates grand columns, Mowgli’s trademark swing seating, jailhouse dining areas, cosy corners and signature fairy light installations to create the warm, intimate settings the brand is known for.
We delivered the comprehensive restaurant fit-out works to achieve this immersive dining experience, making sure every detail supported Mowgli's unique street food concept and vibrant aesthetic.
Working within the former Café Royal listed building presented specific heritage considerations, requiring careful coordination to preserve the building's historic character whilst implementing all modern restaurant requirements across the two-floor layout.
This successful project reinforces our strong relationship with Mowgli Street Food, building on our previous completions at their Lincoln and Birmingham sites. We look forward to supporting them again in the near future.
