Merchant’s House, Chester

Client: Cheshire West and Chester Council

Architect: Pearson Surveyors

Duration: 6 weeks

Value: £250k

Having delivered the flagship fit out of the Chester Northgate Market Hall on behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council in 2022, Medlock was once again engaged to deliver a splendid transformation of Merchant’s House in Chester City Centre.

Revitalising the former council office space, the works saw Medlock reconfigure the accommodation to house a new registry office.

Alongside the ceremonial registry rooms is a new office suite with shared kitchen and breakout areas and revamped toilet facilities.

The fast track refurbishment was undertaken in a live environment in just 6 weeks with other floors of Merchant House remaining in full occupation whilst our works were complete.

A careful coordination of works and deliveries from our site teams meant as least disruption to the occupiers of Merchant House as possible with paramount safety considerations put in place to avoid people coming into contact with the work interface.
