Hit For Six As Whitbread’s Multi-Million Pound Expansion Programme Gathers Pace
Whitbread's multi-million pound expansion programme is gathering serious momentum with six Premier Inn projects now underway across England.
The comprehensive programme will deliver over 150 new rooms to meet growing demand for modern, high-quality accommodation. The ambitious investment shows Whitbread's on-going commitment to keep improving their guest offering.
Major hotel extensions and conversions
The six projects have the same goal to increase bedroom capacity and guest experience, but each project requires a unique approach. From demolitions and ground-up extensions to creative conversions and area upgrades, each location needs to be treated on an individual basis to get the right, high quality outcome.
Burton-on-Trent - Represents the largest single project with demolition of the existing Merry Monk Beefeater restaurant making way for a four-storey extension adding 48 beds. The scheme also includes full refurbishment of the breakfast room, bar and reception area, plus car parking, drainage and external works.
Cheadle - Started in July, the Cheadle Premier Inn project involves the remodelling of existing rooms to create a new breakfast and accessible accommodation. We’ll then be adding a new 25 bed wing extension to increase capacity.
Goole - Over in East Yorkshire, the Goole project includes the construction of a two-storey extension to add 16 beds to the existing Premier Inn, accompanied by external upgrades.
Oldbury - This is one of the more complex transformations, requiring demolition, alteration and strip-out of the existing ground floor Lakeside Cookhouse &Pub. The space will be reimagined to create new bedrooms and a refreshed restaurant area, with drainage and external upgrades included too.
Oldham - The Premier Inn Oldham Central project is already well underway. The end product will feature a new breakfast room and 35 bedroom extension built on the site of the former Clayton Green Brewers Fayre restaurant.
Stafford - The work at Stafford takes a different approach as we’re converting the existing Redhill Brewers Fayre into 22 new rooms without demolition so we can maximise the use of the existing structure.
