New Campus Facilities Taking Shape At Eccles Sixth Form College

New learning and social spaces planned across the campus

A programme of internal refurbishment works is underway at Eccles Sixth Form College in Salford.

Being delivered for Salford City College Group, the project will repurpose and improve several existing areas across the campus, including some interesting space-swapping: the existing student lounge is being converted into a new café, while the current café area will become a healthcare simulation suite.

The changes are designed to give students more dedicated, purpose-built facilities for practical clinical training.

New café, classrooms and healthcare facilities

Alongside the café and simulation suite, the educational refurb and fit out project includes the installation of a new mezzanine floor. This will create additional classroom accommodation above and make better use of the existing building's volume.

Existing IT suites and healthcare teaching spaces are also being refurbished as part of the wider programme, along with associated external works.

Keeping the campus open throughout

All works are being delivered by Medlock while the college remains fully operational. With students, staff and visitors on site throughout, safety planning and careful programming are central to the delivery approach.

This marks Medlock's first project with Salford City College Group - a new relationship we're delighted to be starting with a project that makes a genuine difference to the student experience across the campus.
