Medlock Aiming To Raise A Tashtastic £1,000 This Movember

The Medlock Movember challenge is back. Last year our team raised over £500 for men’s health, and this November we’re aiming to double it to £1,000.

From 1st November, Medlock colleagues will be swapping their razors for a month of moustache growing. Alongside our fit-outs, refurbs and new builds, there’ll be some interesting facial hair on site and in the office over the coming weeks.

What is Movember?

Movember started back in 2003 when a group of friends in Australia joked about bringing the moustache back to get people talking about men’s health. That first year saw just 30 men take part.

It has since grown into a global movement with millions of participants. Movember now focuses on three of the biggest issues facing men and their families:

  • Prostate cancer

  • Testicular cancer

  • Mental health and suicide prevention

The money raised funds research and support programmes around the world, helping men live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Why it matters to us

These issues affect many of us in one way or another, whether directly or through family, friends and colleagues.

Our industry has a mostly male workforce, so raising awareness and encouraging conversations about men’s health is especially important to us.

How you can help

We appreciate all donations and support via our JustGiving page. Anything to help us get closer to the £1,000 is brilliant.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated and to the team for getting involved. We’ll let you know how we get on at the end of November.
