Lake District Hotel Landmark Gets Refined Bedroom Makeover

The iconic Lodore Falls Hotel in Keswick has completed a premium refurbishment of a collection of guest bedrooms. Delivered over six weeks, the rooms received a first class upgrade which combined comfort and style with the building’s distinctive Victorian character and heritage.

 The project reflects Lake District Hotels’ continued investment to enhance the guest experience at this landmark Derwentwater location.

Premium bedroom upgrades

Each room received a full redesign, including new upholstered headboards, fresh flooring and updated wall coverings. Carefully selected materials and finishes preserve the calm, inviting atmosphere guests expect from this lakeside retreat.

Bathroom areas were also reconfigured with sleek new shower facilities, replacing traditional baths to better suit modern guest preferences. The result is a truly relaxing experience that complements the hotel’s destination spa offering.

Bespoke furniture was handcrafted by our in-house joinery team for each bedroom, including bedside cabinets, minibar cupboards, TV units, wardrobes and writing tables. This detail-driven approach makes sure that every piece fits the room’s proportions whilst meeting first-class hospitality standards.

Finally, new Juliette balconies were installed for each room and an external decked area was added to round off this stunning refurb. 

All delivered in a live trading environment

The entire six week project was delivered in live trading conditions, whilst the hotel remained fully operational. Close coordination with hotel management made sure guests experienced minimal disruption throughout the works.

This operational sensitivity reflects our understanding of the hospitality sector's unique requirements, where maintaining guest satisfaction during refurbishment work is just as important as the quality of the finished result.

An on-going partnership

This project marks our fourth successful collaboration with Lake District Hotels. Previous projects include the transformation of the Falls Brasserie, reception areas and Derwent Suite at Lodore Falls, as well as refurbishments at The Inn on the Lake near Penrith.

This latest upgrade strengthens Lodore Falls Hotel’s position as one of the Lake District’s premier destinations for relaxation, spa breaks and special occasions. We hope guests will enjoy this beautiful hotel for many years to come.
