Chancellor Visits Haven Kent Coast Holiday Park Site

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves MP, visited Haven Kent Coast Holiday Park this week to see Haven's £140 million investment programme in action.

During her visit, the Chancellor toured new holiday homes, met Haven's dedicated team members and previewed exciting developments taking shape at this popular coastal destination.

She even managed to have a chat with our Site Manager Ray Cossins (pictured below), who was accompanied by Haven CEO Simon Palethorpe and Group CEO of Bourne Leisure Paul Flaum.

Showcasing The HAven investment

The visit highlighted several key developments at the Kent Coast site, including the £10 million aqua park project that we’re currently supporting on, and the recently opened Wetherspoon pub, The London Stone. The Chancellor was able to see how healthy investment transforms holiday parks and supports local communities.

Haven Kent Coast stands as a brilliant example of what strategic investment can achieve in UK tourism. Over recent years, Haven has invested over £30 million in this park alone, delivering new pitches, upgraded accommodation, a purpose-built marina lounge, a new complex entrance and the aqua park currently taking shape.

The investments have delivered brilliants results for both the business and local community. Haven has trebled the number of holidaymakers visiting the park and doubled the headcount of team numbers.

The park now employs 450 people from March to New Year and offers over 1,100 pitches, making it a significant contributor to the local economy and coastal community regeneration.

The visit shows the significant impact that sustained investment can have on UK tourism infrastructure and coastal communities, with Haven leading the way in creating world-class holiday destinations that keep families holidaying in Britain.
