Revamp complete at Ducie Street Warehouse
Medlock is proud to have supported Native Places in delivering the reconfiguration of apartments at the iconic Ducie Street Warehouse in Manchester.
Located in the heart of the city and housed within a Grade II listed building, Ducie Street Warehouse is known for its vibrant and eclectic mix of hospitality spaces including a bar, restaurant, deli, mini cinema, co-working area, gym, and 193 luxury serviced apartments.
The scope of the project involved the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing two bedroom apartments across floors 1 to 4. Our objective was to introduce 28 new rooms, comprising a mix of one bedroom studios and one bedroom suites, to enhance both the functionality and flexibility of the aparthotel's accommodation offering.
The works included the careful demolition and full remodelling of the apartment layouts, implementation of a fresh, vibrant interior design scheme and installation of new services and finishes to suit the updated configurations.
A key challenge of the project was carrying out substantial internal works while the aparthotel remained fully operational. To address this we worked in close coordination with Native Places’ operations team, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and maintaining the high standard of guest experience expected at Ducie Street Warehouse.
Detailed phasing plans, quiet hours for noisy works, and clear communication with hotel staff were essential in successfully delivering the project in a live environment.
The completed refurbishment has not only enhanced the quality and flexibility of accommodation at Ducie Street Warehouse, but it also supports Native Places' continued commitment to delivering unique, design-led spaces that reflect the character and creativity of their locations.
