The Tayleur Arms, Longdon-upon-Tern

  • Client: EI Group
  • Architect: Tweedale Architects
  • Value: £1m
  • Duration: 27 weeks

Medlock was awarded the contract to rebuild this historic country pub which had been severely damaged by a devastating blaze in March 2014.

Named after the family who held the manor of Longdon-upon-Tern from the mid-13th to mid-17th centuries, the new Tayleur Arms occupies the same footprint as the original building, but now also includes larger parking and outdoor patio areas.

Located in rural east Shropshire, the family-friendly pub has a traditional feel, with open fires, log burners and comfortable sofas, and is designed to accommodate three distinct dining zones.

The Medlock team completed the project in 27 weeks and is proud to have played its part in creating a new and exciting era for the Tayleur Arms.
