The Sword Dancer, Sheffield

  • Client: Greene King PLC
  • Architect: JDA
  • Value: £1.00m
  • Duration: 24 weeks

Named after the birth place of Traditional Sword Dancing in the 19th century, this is the first new build Hungry Horse Public House to be built by Medlock for its client Greene King.

Despite working through one of the wettest summers on record the project handed-over on programme to the delight of the Project Team.

During the 24 week contract, Medlock were responsible for the building’s shell, interior fit-out, all M & E Services, and the provision of the three bedroom manager’s accommodation and staff areas on the first floor. External works included car parking, children’s play area, sun terrace and landscaped gardens.

Medlock’s joinery manufacturing workshop supplied the bars, backfitting’s, doors and the screens around the fixed seating and TV booths.
The popular Hungry Horse branded pub has opened and is exceeding all trading expectations.
