The Riverside, Rotherham

  • Client: Greene King PLC
  • Architect: JDA Architects
  • Value: £1.5m
  • Duration: 25 weeks

A new family-focused pub restaurant has been built by Medlock on the site of a former steelworks in the South Yorkshire town of Rotherham.

The ‘Riverside’ forms an integral part of a six acre mixed-use development beside the River Don and is an ideal location for the popular Hungry Horse family pub concept of high quality, great value, food and drink.

A new innovation for the brand is the introduction of the ‘Horseshoe‘ bar, a separate, adult-friendly sports zone. Designed with its own bespoke bar counter and segregated drinking area, it promises to provide the perfect environment in which to view sporting events.

Medlock completed the new build venue in just 25 weeks.
