Medlock were awarded the contract to convert a former cinema into a modern, spacious and welcoming environment for leading pub operator J D Wetherspoon.

Originally built in 1913, the history of ‘ The Picture House ‘ has been respected with a highly visual and eye-catching design with many of the original features of the building retained for aesthetic harmony.

The individuality of the pub is highlighted by the creation of a stunning rooftop garden accessed by a glass conservatory-style staircase and lift.

Medlock’s manufacturing workshop were responsible for all of the decorative joinery, including the 24 metre granite-top bar, the back bar and coffee station, the veneered wall-panelling and banquet screens.

The end result is the continuing evolution of one of the nation’s favourite pub brands.
