The Parrswood, Didsbury

  • Client: J W Lees & Co Ltd
  • Architect: Mark Mason Design
  • Value: £500k
  • Duration: 10 weeks

A traditional community pub in East Didsbury has been given a new lease of life after its acquisition by one of the North West’s longest established brewers.

Medlock’s scope of works included major structural changes to the 1930’s building, including the removal of a feature brick fireplace and chimney stack, the filling and repositioning of the cellar and creating a new kitchen, office and staff room on the first floor. The trading space was augmented with the creation of a heated patio garden for all-season dining and drinking.

The sympathetic modernisation of the lounge and casual dining clusters epitomises the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a typical J W Lees managed house offering great value, fresh cooked pub food and award-winning beers.
