Medlock has converted a former restaurant into a new Ale House & Kitchen concept in the centre of Burton upon Trent, a town steeped in brewing history.

Enterprise Inns, the UK’s largest leased and tenanted pub company own the freehold of the newly refurbished venue called The Crossing which will be operated by a partnering retailer.

Medlock’s scope of works included creating a new internal layout using a wide range of bespoke furnishings, antiques and collectables to form a quirky yet convivial environment. The project also involved creating a spacious, heated garden area with timber decking, and doubling the size of the car park.

The building’s history traces back to the early days of brewing in the town in the 1850s, when an adjacent railway crossing was used to transport ales across the country.
